Vintage Anatolian Oushak - Château Bleu

An exceptional vintage Anatolian Oushak, handwoven in Turkey and selected for its beautifully intricate floral composition, generous scale and softly aged palette.

On the Design: Château Bleu features an expansive all-over botanical field, intricately woven with trailing vines, stylised florals and delicate palmettes. A warm aged-ivory foundation is layered with faded powder blue, muted antique gold, soft oatmeal and subtle touches of burgundy, creating an incredibly nuanced palette that changes gently across the surface of the rug.

Rather than a dominant central medallion, the design flows continuously across the field, giving the piece an elegant sense of movement and allowing its pattern to be appreciated from every angle. Multiple finely detailed borders frame the composition, with deeper blue accents bringing definition to the otherwise beautifully muted tones.

The years have softened both the colour and surface of the rug, giving it the quiet, timeworn character for which vintage Turkish textiles are so highly sought after. Up close, the complexity of the handwoven pattern becomes particularly beautiful, while from a distance the colours settle into a soft, almost painterly neutral.

At 352 × 250 cm, Château Bleu is a substantial one-of-one piece suited to a large living room, bedroom or dining space.
